Logging Into Portal {expander}

In the upper right corner of the Portal, enter your username and password.

  • Username = first initial + last name + last 3 digits of ID#
  • Password = "p-" + ID# + last 2 digits of birth year
  • Example: John Doe ID# 123456 born 1955 = jdoe456, p-12345655

Note: If John Doe should have the suffix "Jr" then the following would occur:

  • Username = jdoejr456

All users are encouraged to change their password for better security through Microsoft's online self-service. This can be done at any time at your discretion.

    1. PC / Mac - Intel Core i5+ | AMD A6+ (at least 1 GHz clock speed required with at least 3 GHz clock speed recommended)
    2. Tablet - Tablets and Chromebooks are not recommended for CIS courses. If purchasing a device for coursework, a tablet is not a good option.

  3. Storage: 120 GB+ SSD or 500 GB+ hard drive
  4. Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768+

    • Note: Microsoft Access is not available for Mac OS.

IT Maintenance Schedule{expander}

IT Services performs regular maintenance and upgrades to equipment and systems to ensure a secure experience. Regular maintenance occurs on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 9 PM CST. These days and times are subject to change. Northark makes all effort to notify of maintenance at least 8 hours in advance.
